buy low and albertsons

Buy Low

I have chicken! Happy day! Chicken Breast, I have missed you and your delicious ways. Thank you for coming to my house.

I also picked up some things for my newly married sister who will be dragging back here Saturday and will NOT feel like grocery shopping. I'm excited to also be able to pass on some stuff from my stockpile that I was able to get at my price points. How dorky am I? It's just so fun!

I got 4 things of oats, a gallon of milk, 30 pounds of chicken (they come in 40 lb boxes but my sister-in-law's taking 10 lbs), a gallon of milk, 2 packages of tortillas, a thing of margarine, a dozen eggs, 2 lbs grapes, 2 artichokes, a pound of turkey, and 3 1/2 lbs of red potatoes

Money Left for the Month: $4.36

remember how at the beginning of me posting again this month how I said that I may have to go over budget as I make up the difference for not grocery shopping last month? Well, I'm afraid that's going to have to happen, darn it. I have 6 diapers left and that's a problem. I'll be heading to Target later today...

  1. diapers are one of those things that almost ALWAYS throw me over budget. We started an additional cash category to cover diapers & wipes... we call if our kid category. Its been $50/month to keep 2 kids in diapers, wipes, clothes that fit and age appropriate toys. We'll be upping that number once DH gets a job and then hopefully reigning it in a little again when my daughter potty trains (hopefully before Christmas... we're making progress!)
Oh, by the way... check your albies for clearance pampers. With teh change over to AFS they're marking stuff down. I was able to get a jumbo pack of cruisers for under $6.

  2. I think it's really neat that you are sharing your deals with her. She'll really appreciate having food in her fridge!

I went to Albertson's tonight and scored some of the deals you mentioned. Aren't you proud of me!
